A Boston Public Library Card. It’s one of the best free things you can get and use that will open up a whole new world for you. There are so many things you can do beyond taking out books, and the summertime is a great time to use your card. And you don’t have to live in Boston to own a Boston Public Library Card.
Who Can Get a Boston Public Library Card?
Any Massachusetts resident can own a Boston Public Library card. You can apply for a physical library card at the circulation desk at any Boston Public Library Location. Just bring a picture ID and proof of Massachusetts residency. If you have a Mass driver’s license or ID, you’re all set. Kids 12 and under can get a card with the signature of a parent or guardian.
You can also apply for a BPL eCard by signing up online. They’re available to anyone who lives, resides part-time for school, owns property, or works in Massachusetts. The eCard will give you access all online resources. Keep in mind that the eCard doesn’t give you access to some of the things listed below like museum passes, CDs, DVDs, and physical books. You’ll need a physical card for that.
