The Newest Wedding Craze Is The “Early-Moon”
For couples getting married soon and are in the midst of all the pre-planning that goes into it there is a new craze to deal with all the stress. It is called an “Early-Moon”. It is exactly what you think it is, a pre wedding day getaway for the busy couple.
It was first reported in the New York Times and has now become much more of a thing this year. In the old days we would have called it a vacation, now it’s an “Early-Moon”. What does one do on it? Well, according to couples that have taken one prior to their big day, they say it helps them relax and reconnect with their soon to be spouse.
We wonder if you have the need to reconnect with your significant other, than there might be some issues you should resolve before saying “I do”. However, if the idea is to get away from all the planning that has to be done for the wedding day, then why not do it?
Not too late for an “Early-Moon”
Today’s weddings are much more individualized than in the past when you pretty much followed a tried and true order of the day. Buy a wedding dress, rent a tux, set up the bridal party with their attire of the day, book a church and reception hall. Choose the hors d’oeuvres and the dinner options maybe an open bar to start the day off and hire a band or disc jockey service, and you were pretty much done the planning.
Of course, you had to do the guest invitations and a host of other details to plan, but it wasn’t anything that would stress you out enough to have an “Early-Moon”. Heck, you would be happy for a night away at that time.
Bride and Grooms now have much more intricate details to work out, they want anything but cookier cutter, which takes imagination, time, stress and yes money.
So, maybe they have it figured out after all but, if they can afford an “Early-Moon” they must be doing well financially, so why not?
