Comet Neowise is Disappearing Soon for 6,800 years! Here’s How to Spot It In the Sky
NASA says “Comet Neowise is putting on a dazzling display for skywatchers before it disappears, not to be seen again for another 6,800 years.” The comet was visible only in the early morning sky through the first half of July but now it can be seen in the evening sky – making it easier for more people to catch it before it vanishes for thousands of years.
To spot the comet, look below the Big Dipper in the northwest sky one or two hours after sunset. Find a spot away from city lights with an unobstructed view of the sky. It’s very rare for a comet to be bright enough that we can see it with our bare eyes so check it out while you can!
