Farmville Permanently Shutting Down at the End of the Year
2020 has seen many things canceled – and now you can add Farmville to that list. (What? You didn’t realize it was still a thing??) The once-popular Facebook game is shutting down for good at the end of the year.
Farmville launched back in 2009 and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon with tens of millions of players tending their virtual farms and harassing their Facebook friends with help requests. My mom loved Farmville and sent me strange requests to help milk her fake cows and sheer her fake sheep on the daily.
Today Farmville’s parent company Zynga announced that Farmville would shut down permanently on Dec. 31st, 2020.
But don’t worry – Farmville 3 will soon be launching as a mobile app. Farmville… to the future!!!!
