Every year my husband and I take a fun weekend trip on Cape Air. Cape Air is a small, convenient airline that flies right out of Boston Logan Airport to eleven different regional airports in New England. They provide non-stop flights to Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Rutland, Lebanon and more!
Our Previous Trips With Cape Air
In 2021 we flew over the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains to Saranac Lake, NY and stayed at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge. Ironically, that’s where we conceived! In May of 2022, we flew Cape Air again, but this time to Martha’s Vineyard. We stayed at The Hob Knob Luxury Boutique Hotel. That trip was to celebrate our “baby moon.” We walked downtown, ate lots of food and rented bicycles. We had the best time!
This Year’s Cape Air Trip To Bar Harbor, Maine
This year we went to Bar Harbor on Cape Air and brought our 8-month-old son, Barrett with us. We weren’t sure how he’d do on the small, 10-seater plane. Would he cry? Would he be scared? Nope! Our son looked out the window for the first ten minutes of the trip and then fell asleep in Rob’s arms. It’s so fun as a parent seeing the world through your child’s eyes. He was so amazed by the plane!
Our 70-min flight route from Boston Logan Airport to Bar Harbor, Maine was the most gorgeous! We traveled the coastline the entire trip. We saw Hampton Beach, Portsmouth, Kittery, and all of the coastal towns until we reached Bar Harbor. Flying into the airport was so cool because it was filled with little green islands with trees and mountains. There was blue ocean everywhere. By far, this was the prettiest flight path we’ve ever flown. For that reason alone, Bar Harbor is worth the trip! But take a look at our itinerary for more reasons to visit Bar Harbor this year!
