Should Warren have gotten his wife a Mother’s Day gift because she’s a “dog mom”?

Warren and his wife have been trying to have a child for a while with no success, so they decide to get a dog in the mean time. This past Sunday, while he was watching the Celtics game, he noticed that his wife was getting angry. She told him she couldn’t believe he didn’t get her a Mother’s Day gift. When he asked what she meant because they don’t have children, she informed him that she is a “dog mom”.

Ayla Brown: Good morning to Warren. Hi, Warren. By the way, happy Mother’s Day to your wife, right?

Warren: Well, not so much, Ayla. Honestly, I’m not sure what to do. Okay. I just. I feel like I’m losing my mind. Ayla. Honestly, I’m surprised I’m even calling in. I never thought I’d be one to do this.

Ayla Brown: Okay, well, I’m glad you’re calling me. Okay. What’s going on?

Warren: Basically, my wife and I, we’ve been trying for kids for some time now. It hasn’t been going well. So we got a dog. Not even a year ago. We’ve got a dog. Wonderful dog. It’s a little schnoodle. It’s a mixture between a poodle and a schnauzer.

Ayla Brown: Oh, yeah. Okay. Gotcha. Wonderful story.

Warren: Anyhow, My wife, I guess she’s a Dog Mom. Okay. But I didn’t get her anything for this Mother’s Day. And I’m watching the Celtics game. I can tell she’s getting visibly upset as the day goes on.

Ayla Brown: Oh, man.

Warren: And she’s looking at me and I’m like, What’s going on? What’s wrong?

Ayla Brown: You’re like, Okay, it’s halftime. Now we can talk. What’s going on?

Warren: She looks at me. She’s like, I can’t believe you didn’t give me anything. What? What are you talking about? For Mother’s Day. We’ve been through this. I can’t do anything more. She’s like, No, I am a mother. I’m a dog, Mom.

Ayla Brown: Okay, you know what? Can I just say I used to be one of those people, too, Before I had kids, I was like, Guys, wish me a happy Mother’s Day. I’m a dog mom.

Warren: Well, I kind of laughed at that. And she smacked my beer off the table.

Ayla Brown: No, she did not.

Warren: She smacked my beer off the table and flipped it over and said, I’m a dog mom. I can’t believe you wouldn’t give me anything. And then, I mean, at this point, I honestly thought she was still joking. She’s not.

Ayla Brown: Okay.

Warren: She is very, very upset that I didn’t get her anything for being a dog’s mother. And I don’t know. I don’t know what to do.
