Erik and his wife have an eight year old daughter. His wife wants to take her to a Mommy And Me Pole Dancing class, which she says is about exercise and not sex. But Erik has never heard of a pole dancing class that wasn’t sexual and thinks its a bad idea for her to go.

Jonathan: Today for panic button, we have Erik.

Erik: Hey. How’s it going?

Jonathan: It’s going well. So you are just trying to make sure that you don’t one day see your daughter on a billboard on the highway in a rural area. What’s going on?

Erik: So my wife wants to take my daughter to these mommy-daughter pole dancing classes. And my daughter’s eight.

Jonathan: Hold on a second. You just glossed over something very important. Your wife is wanting to take your daughter, who’s eight years old, to what kind of classes?

Erik: Mommy-daughter pole dancing classes.

Jonathan: Oh, my God.

Erik: And then they’re on a stripper pole. Well, have you guys seen this or not?

Jonathan: I’ve never seen mommy and me.

Ayla: I’ve never seen classes offered, but I have taken a pole dancing class.

Jonathan: You took a pole dancing class?

Ayla: It was a workout class, and I stress the word workout. We can get into it later, but it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The hardest workout guys. I played college basketball. Nothing was harder than getting up on that pole.

Jonathan: Getting on that pole.

Ayla: I’m actually not even kidding. But. Okay, so how old is your daughter, Erik?

Erik: She’s a ripe old eight years of age.

Ayla: And they offer mommy and me classes?

Jonathan: Sure. I mean, obviously they do. So what? Well, let’s just talk about it. Like, specifically. What’s your problem with it? I get it. I get the social issues there.

Erik: Yeah, t’s mainly that I don’t want my daughter to accrue a certain set of skills that she can use later on in life. You know?

Ayla: What if the eight year old does it once and she’s like, mom, that was so fun. The music that they played was really cool. Yeah. Can we do it again?

Jonathan: I love that the men keep throwing money at me.

Ayla: And next week and next week. And then all of a sudden she’s 16 years old, you know, and she’s a professional pole dancer.

Jonathan: I don’t think you could be A professional pole dancer at 16. I think most places you have to be at least be 18.

Ayla: Okay, fine. You know what I mean, though. I totally understand where you’re coming from. But from a workout perspective. Let me just go back to that real quick. I did it once because someone offered it to me, of course, for free. So I was like, let me try it. And, I was blown away at how difficult it was. So I get that it’s a workout. But I also understand where Eric is coming from because it’s his little baby girl.

Jonathan: Honestly, I looked this up, it is an Olympic sport now. Yeah. Pole dancing is good.

Ayla: Why is it not the number one watched?

Jonathan: I’m assuming that’s what they’re doing it for because it’s going to mean a lot of people tuning in. I don’t think the male pole dancing section is going to get as much attention as the female one, but whatever. But it is associated with sex. I mean, I can’t think of it outside of a strip club.

Ayla: Well, except the Olympics. Apparently the Olympics are at a strip club.
