Johnny served in the the U.S Air were he became a Morse code intercept operation!

We all know Morgan Wallen was the most popular country music artist of 2022. Not only did people love his music, they listened to it more than any other country artist. Even Spotify told me that he was my most-listened to artist of the year. His popularity got me wondering, who are the most listened-to country artists of all time?

To answer this question, I turned to an unusual source: YouGov America’s list of the most popular country musicians of all time. Some names on this list don’t surprise me. From Loretta Lynn to Reba McEntire, there are country legends that we all grew up on dominating the rankings. However, there are some that many of us consider to be classic rock artists on the list! (John Denver for example. He he really country?)

Before you begin scrolling, take note: fame refers to their name recognition, while popularity refers to the percentage of people who have listened to their music.

Check out this list of the top 20 country music artists of all time, and let me know if you agree with their ranking! And then at the end, I’ve decided to add my favorite country artists. These artists made me fall in love with the genre. I grew up listening to pop music and Disney songs. But when I discovered country music in high school, my life changed for the better. These artists made me believe in country music!

  • 5. Miranda Lambert

    25. “Somewhere Trouble Don’t Go” from ‘Revolution’ (2009)
The Revolution album by Miranda Lambert really changed my life. There’s not one song I hate on this record. She shows her feisty side, while also bringing her soft side on songs like “The House that Built Me.”

  • 4. Josh Turner

I had the opportunity to open up for Josh Turner for many shows during his tours. He is one of the THE nicest people I have ever met. And his voice is so low and deep. It really is a special sound!

  • 3. Carly Pearce

I have known Carly Pearce for many years. We “grew up” in Nashville together, performing at the same singer-songwriter rounds. I have always been a fan of her songwriting and love that she’s finally breaking through as an artist!

  • 2. Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton Announces 'American Road Show' Tour For 2023

I sat next to Chris Stapleton on a flight once. He was very shy, but of course I pestered him with conversation the entire time. I’m sure he loved me. Kidding. But I am obsessed with his voice and his music.

13 Morgan Wallen Songs That Helped Him Sell Out Arenas

Literally would die to write a song with this guy. I love his songs, I love his voice. I like the fact that he’s a little “bad boy.”  He was my most-listened to artist of all time (besides Celine Dion).
