LISTEN: Eric Church Picks His Next Single!
He’s been known to go there, occasionally… a dark place.
Eric Church’s just announced third single from his “Desperate Man” album, will take us back to those darker corners of his creative mind. “Monsters” takes us all back to our childhood, and our childhood fears of monsters. But it also takes to our childhood imagination, that wonderfully free place every kid goes to, without judgement. Those fears we faced seemed like “child’s play” compared to our grown-up fears. Church brilliantly weaves those themes with his faith in this darker, yet hopeful mid-tempo ballad.
Church was reportedly inspired to write “Monsters” after his son Boone, asked for a night light in his room. Eric found new meaning in the song following the tragic events of the Route 91 Harvest Festival, where he had performed in October of 2017.
“Monsters” is the follow-up to Chief’s most recent #1 hit, “Some Of It.”
