Chris Stapleton has been named the Academy of Country Music’s Artist-songwriter of the decade! He’s the first recipient of this new honor. He received this award in a surprise presentation at Berry Hill Studios in Nashville. The awards recognizes “An artist who has commercially released material, written in whole or in part by the artist and a songwriter whose creative works and performance have impacted country music over the decade.” Over the decade of Stapleton living in Nashville he’s had 170 of his songs cut by other artists and himself, 7 of those songs went to #1!
Notorious Mobster Whitey Bulger was intentionally put in harms way by the federal government according to claims from his family. Whitey was transferred to one of the most violent prisons last October and placed in general population, where he was beaten to death. The family says they plan on filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the US Justice Dept. claiming they believe he was put in harms was deliberately. The lawyer wrote “There is simply no other explanation for the transfer of someone in his condition and inmate status to be placed in the general population of one of the country’s most violent federal penitentiaries.” At the time of his death, he was cooperating with the FBI, which is one of the reasons it’s said to be believed that he was killed in jail.

Prince Harry and Megan Markle are sticking with their promise by NOT flying private airlines. The couple and 4 month old Archie took an 11.5 hour nonstop flight from London to Cape Town, South Africa. You can definitely say that they’re trying their best to turn public opinion around. Last month they flew private to see Elton John in France. Prince Harry afterwards said sometimes flying private is necessary for the safety of his family, but this is the 2nd time they’ve been spotted taking commercial flights since.
Lebron James Jersey from the 2002 Sports Illustrated cover is up for auction. This is his high school jersey and the magazine featured him on the cover with the title The Chosen One. Lebron was only 17 years old. If a Dorito shaped like the Pope’s Hat can get $1209 at an auction, then this will for sure go for a pretty penny! It’s being predicted to sell between $300-500k!
