Former Red Sox Player Surprises Fan at Canobie Lake Park
You’re getting ready for a day at Canobie, riding roller coasters and having a great time. You mindlessly throw on your Jason Varitek shirt before you leave, and head out for the day.
Now, when lunch time comes around, you stop somewhere in the park and grab a bite to eat. And then, all of the sudden, you feel a tap on your back…
Kids pointed out a guy in a #Varitek shirt at @CanobieLakePark ….

So we hit him with a sneak attack! #RedSox #SoHappy #Kindness pic.twitter.com/YhyKUQzLUV
Longtime Red Sox catcher and current coach Jason Varitek surprised this fan at the counter. The best part is that the fan wasn’t able to recognize the icon at first, probably because he wore a catcher’s mask for most of his career. However, when Jeff, the fan wearing Jason’s shirt, finally figured out who he was speaking with, a the two hugged. It was a fantastic moment.
That’s my brother-in-law Jeff. You guys made his day. He was still in shock when I saw him a few minutes later! ❤️
