Logan is NOT the Most Complained Airport in America
What is the most complained about airport in America? Well, it’s not Boston Logan International, believe it or not.
When I first saw this piece from Price4Limo called The Most Complained About Airlines and Airports in America, I was fully expecting a Boston smackdown. I mean, we’re constantly topping lists like the cities with the worst holiday traffic. Or the cities with the worst sports fans. So it stands to reason we’d place highly on a list of most complained about airports. But we don’t!
Logan is NOT the Most Complained Airport in America
Now, don’t start celebrating or anything. We’re still on the list, we’re just not at the top. The study used Twitter and U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) data to identify the most complained about airports and airlines in the United States. And while Boston Logan didn’t necessarily run away from the field, our home airport certainly got its fair share of grousing. Take a look:
-
Boston Logan International (BOS) has the 26th most complaints on Twitter
-
BOS is among the top airports with the most negative sentiment tweets, ranking 33rd overall
So who beat Boston? Or, in other words, which airports should you avoid in your travels if you’re able to? The most complained about airports on Twitter are Hartsfield-Jackson International in Atlanta, Baltimore/Washington International, and LaGuardia Airport in New York. I’ve flown into and out of all three of those and can concur: they suck.
The study also lays out the most complained about airlines. Frontier Airlines is far and away the leader when it comes to Twitter complaints. They’re followed by Spirit Airlines, then American Airlines. With the summer travel season upon us, you might even want to use this study as a vacation planning guide.
