We are all on a mission…to travel over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s house. We need our turkey and stuffing! If you are hitting the road this week in search of your mashed potatoes with gravy on top, there’s likely to be a mashup of traffic to and fro.
AAA is helping us out by pointing out the best and worst times for travel.
Here’s the breakdown:
Best time to travel- After 9 p.m. on Wednesday; before 11 a.m. on Thursday and Friday; and before noon on Saturday and Sunday
Worst time to travel- Wednesday between noon- 8:00pm; Thursday from noon-3:00; Friday from 1:00-4:00pm; Saturday from 2:00-7:00pm and Sunday from 1:00-7:00pm.
AAA estimates the worst traffic, locally, to be on 1-93 North from Quincy Market to MA-28. And the height of congestion should happen Wednesday from 1:00-3:00pm.
According to AAA 53.4 million Americans are predicted to be hitting the roads, rails, and air for the holiday which is an increase of 13% from 2020.
