Old Wives Tales That Will Make You Go Into Labor

I asked my friends on my Facebook page about natural ways to go into labor. I am almost 39-weeks pregnant, which means that my baby could come any second now! There were almost 400 comments with many of them suggesting similar things. Now, are these old wives tales? Or are they science? Luck, or coincidence? No matter how you view them, I tried some of them. And guess what? My baby still isn't here!

I tried #2, #3, #5 and #16! On Saturday, I started off the day with an 11am reflexology appointment. I booked a 30-min session, but after sitting in the chair, I knew I needed to extend it to an hour! I haven't had my feet rubbed in 9 LONG months and it felt so great. I could have sworn after that appointment I would go into labor. I did not.

So then that night around 6pm I ordered an eggplant parmesan because many women have told me that that was the trick for starting labor. So I went and got an big eggplant pasta dish. I ate the ENTIRE plate. Once again, I thought I was going to go into labor. I did not.

To really bring it on home, my husband and I tried the ole wives trick of #3, "...the same way baby Barrett got there."  I really thought that would work and I would go into labor. I did not.

But will I keep trying? OF COURSE! I don't want to be medically induced, and I am very curious if any of these will make me go into labor. When it happens, I will make sure to let you know which one "got it done!" Have you tried any of these? Check out the list of Old Wives Tales of Going Into Labor.
