The Red Sox sent a plane to the Dominican Republic to pick up David Ortiz and bring him back to Boston one day after he was shot outside of a nightclub. A suspect has been identified as the driver who sped off on the motorcycle, named Eddy Vladimir Féliz García. Fellow Red Sox legend tweeted out a message of support, saying “I’m at peace knowing you out of danger; you a strong man Compai, can’t wait to hear your voice. My thoughts and prayers are with you, see you soon.” And Tom Brady also sent his support, saying “Papi defines Boston Strong… get well soon my friend!!!”
