Garth Is Here! And His Birthday Is Friday! So Here’s Some Fun Facts And Favorites!
As we get ready to welcome Garth Brooks to Foxboro tonight for an intimate show, as part of his Dive Bar Tour, here’s a little tribute to one of country’s biggest stars!
Troyal Garth Brooks was born on February 7, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a high school star athlete, playing football and baseball and running track and field. Garth earned a track scholarship at Oklahoma State. But his love of music kept calling him back.
Brooks broke out in 1989 with his debut single, “Much Too Young To Feel This Damn Old.” And that’s where it all began. A record -breaking career that would change the face of country music, and influence a generation. He used his love of traditional country (George Strait), his passion for rock (KISS) and respect for singer/songwriters of the 70’s (James Taylor) to weave his own sound and pave his own path.
Garth helped to spark a new era of country music. His stage shows were largely influenced by big rock shows of the 70’s and 80’s, peppered with pyrotechnics and light effects. Brooks has a way of bringing the audience on his wild ride… using every inch of the stage and interacting with his fans. There was nothing like a Garth Brooks concert, before Garth Brooks.
