For $50, You Can Name a Cat After Your Ex and Have It Neutered

Okay this definitely sounds like a crazy idea. But could this be crazy enough to actually work? The idea is coming from a New Jersey animal shelter and they are trying to control the pet population AND have some fun with women scorned at the same time. Here’s exactly how it works:

The Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in South Jersey came up with the idea just in time for Valentine’s Day. The promotion asks for a donation of $50. Once you donate the money, they will find a feral cat and it will get spayed or neutered then they will get released back into the wild. The shelter actually posted the promotion on its IG page and in the caption, wrote “Because some things shouldn’t breed.” ” Your donation ensures we can offer spay/neuter surgery at a reduced cost for community cats and their caregivers in need.”

There seems to be quite a bit of interest too. While reading the comments for the promotion, many are asking if they can do more than one. Others want to publicize the ex’s name by  having it published on their website. Either way, this seems like a brilliant idea that will help control the feral cat population in New Jersey AND maybe shame some cheaters at the same time.
