Catch Of The Week: Michael Pace
Meet Michael Pace from Sudbury, MA (now living in Nashville)
Michael Pace may be from Massachusetts, but you’ll find traces of Texas in this Boston boy. Well, he is from the west… MetroWest. But the singer/songwriter clearly has been influenced by the current crop of modern traditionalist country artists. Think Aaron Watson, minus the twang. And replace that cowboy hat with a ball cap.
What’s most impressive about Pace, is the fact that he only started playing about 3 years ago. With strong vocals, admirable writing skills, and a seemingly cool confidence, this Sudbury native is on pace to stand out in a very crowded field. He recently moved to Nashville and has gigs playing in town and around the South.
It was an infatuation for the passion of music that hooked Michael. Michael said he was always interested into what goes into the music, on the creative end of writing a song and conveying those heartfelt words through performance that made him want to pick up a guitar.

- All time favorite country songs: top 3 would have to be “Where She Told Me to Go” (Eric Church), “Crazy One More Time” (Kip Moore), and “Kate McCannon” (Colter Wall)
- Current Country 1025 favorites: “I Wish Grandpas Never Died”- Riley Green
- Most proud moment: Performing Whiskey Jam had always seemed to be this stepping stone that was essential to me as an artist. on April 1st, i was able to cross that off my bucket list
- Crazy thing that happened in your music career: I had a girl write her phone number down on a Joker playing card. At the time it was so baffling to me that the only thing available was that playing card, that I held onto it just to give myself a laugh if i ever needed one. I still have it too.
- Favorite country concerts: Eric Church acoustic at Coyote Joe’s (Charlotte, NC), any Cody Johnson performance, Kip Moore acoustic tour with Muscadine Bloodline as the openers
- First Country Concert: Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw at Gillette (brothers of the sun tour)
- Fun facts: (1) my parents taught me to cook at a young age and instilled a sort of culinary passion in me from a young age. it was in the kitchen around 6 years old that I was first exposed to Garth Brooks and Willie Nelson. (2) at some point during every gig I’ve played, i play the Harry Potter theme song between songs (3) we had a lamp in our front yard growing up that I broke a total of 15 times through baseballs, footballs, or hockey pucks by the time I reached High School. (4) I’ve read through the entire Harry Potter series 5 times and im about to do it for a 6th
- Other talents: I’ve always been a relatively good hockey player, I’m a very good cook, and I can do a pretty good impression of Peter Griffin from Family Guy
