Massachusetts Has Thousands of Powerball Winners, Jackpot Closes In On $1 Billion

WASHINGTON, DC - NOVEMBER 07: In this photo illustration, tickets for the upcoming Powerball lottery are seen on November 07, 2022 in Washington, DC. The estimated Powerball jackpot for the November 7th drawing has increased to $1.9 billion, with an estimated lump sum payment of $929.1 million. (Photo illustration by Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images)

There was no Powerball jackpot winner last night so the pot is now going to be $925 million for Saturday night’s drawing. But all hope is not lost if you bought a ticket in Massachusetts. There were thousands of winners here. The winners were not of the big prize. They weren’t of a million dollar prize either. However, do not throw your ticket away. There were 157 people who won prizes of $100. You achieve this in one of two ways. You either match 4 numbers OR 3 numbers plus the Powerball number. So remember, do NOT throw your ticket away before checking because even though it’s “only” $100, that money could go a long way especially these days. The winning numbers were: 1, 7, 46, 47, 63 and red Powerball 7.  Saturday’s jackpot will be the ninth largest in lottery history.

So what is the next drawing looking like? According to a press release from Powerball: It’s the ninth largest in the American lottery game’s history.  There have been 30 consecutive drawings without a big winner, dating back to July 19.  That amount of money is nothing to sneeze at. If someone wins Saturday’s jackpot, they’ll have a cash pay out of $432.4 million.  The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.  Most people choose the lump sum payout to ensure they get all of their money while they’re still here. Smart move.

So here’s the deal. when you go to play Powerball tomorrow, why not grab some scratch tickets from your favorite convenience store to double your chance of winning?! We’ve put together a list of the tickets with the best odds for you to win in September AND that still have the grand prizes available. We like to make things easy for you. Scroll down and you can see which ones you should be buying. Best of luck this weekend!

13 Massachusetts Scratch Tickets That Still Have Millions Up For Grabs

Feeling lucky? Are you a gambler? Maybe you want to take a ride to your local casino. Here in Massachusetts there are a few like Encore Boston Harbor, Plainridge Park and MGM Springfield where you can press your luck. But maybe you don’t want to take a ride several miles to win some money. The key to winning some serious cash is right down the street at your local convenience store.

Scratch tickets are all the rage here in Massachusetts. Back in 2020, we spent the most money out of any state in the country on lottery tickets. The average lottery player in Massachusetts spent about $1000 annually on tickets. That’s about $300 more than any state. What if you knew going into that store which lottery ticket was going to win? That may take the fun out of gambling but you’d be more apt to buy said ticket correct? Well that answer is right at the click of a button. The Massachusetts state lottery has a website where they literally put the odds of winning on each ticket. Knowing this information should make you better informed before buying your next ticket. That is, if you want to win.

They also have a section that tells you which tickets have their top prizes already claimed. So that means, it also tells you which prizes are still available. This should make your next scratch ticket purchase that much easier. So not only have we helped you out in finding which scratch tickets have the best odds of winning but we’re also helping you by letting you know which ones have the biggest amount of prizes still available. Choose wisely!

Oh and as always, we’ll never ask you for a cut WHEN you win (LOL). May the odds forever be in your favor! Good luck.
