Brantley Gilbert: Temptation Is Always Right Around The Corner
Brantley Gilbert‘s tour and album are called The Devil Don’t Sleep for good reason. As he explains, “Temptation is always right around the corner.”
The good times he’s experiencing make him especially aware of that fact. Brantley’s been sober for five years, is married to the love of his life and is expecting a baby boy in the next few months, all of which are part of the creative process behind making albums. “I like to say it’s the three year project,” he says through his record label. “If you’re going to tell a story, tell the whole thing and [don’t] leave out any of the good or the bad or the ugly. And to be honest with you this one took so long [that] I was waiting on a little more bad and ugly, because contrary to the title, this is probably the most positive record and the most positive chapter of my life – my wife coming back into the picture after five years of not seeing or speaking to each other and getting back together and then being married. You know, being her husband is probably my most proud thing in my life. But you know, The Devil Don’t Sleep is all about just being on my toes and staying conscious that temptation is always right around the corner.”
Brantley’s The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour has stops scheduled in the coming weeks in North Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, Wyoming and New York, to name a few. Tyler Farr and Luke Combs will open. See a complete list of dates here, including his show on 7/14 at the BANK OF NEW HAMPSHIRE PAVILION.
