Brantley Gilbert On Tour: It’s Not All About Us
Tours aren’t just a series of songs and artists thrown together with no rhyme or reason; lots of thought and planning goes into nearly everything. Just ask Brantley Gilbert.
The “The Weekend” singer believes in providing something for everybody. “We had Canaan Smith and Michael Ray out [with us] last time, which sonically they’re not very similar to us,” Brantley says through his record label. “But … to me … it’s maybe not necessarily all about us and [fans] wants to hear some different stuff. It’s all about having a variety of music up there. And really, I don’t know how much fun it’d be to listen to a whole show of stuff that was just like mine. I kind of like seeing what’s going on, what’s new, what’s up and coming.”
There’s also his personal preferences in identifying tour mates. “I like to focus on the singer songwriter aspect,” Brantley says. “I like having somebody out that I can write with.”
Tyler Farr and Luke Combs fit that description these days. The pair are currently on the road with Brantley as part of his Devil Don’t Sleep Tour. Shows are set up and down the East Coast in the coming weeks. Find a complete list of tour dates here.
