Thomas Rhett’s Rule-Breaking New Album
Thomas Rhett will release a new album in a couple of months and it’s gonna be a rule-breaker.
The “Get Me Some Of That Singer” will release his third album Life Changes September 8th and there’s going to be something for everyone; country, pop, rock and R&B will all be represented on the project.
“I am and will always be a country artist,” the budding superstar says through his record label. “It’s who I am, it’s in my blood. I will always try to push boundaries because that rebellious side has been in me since I was a kid. My voice and my journey that inspired these songs are the glue that makes this album cohesive. This is where I’m at musically, and these are my stories.”
Thomas co-wrote 10 of the album’s 14 songs. “I want people to come in from different genres and be like, ‘Dang, I never really listened to country music, but this record kind of turns me on in different ways,” he tells USA Today of its wide-ranging sounds. “I think that’s why I recorded so many different types of songs on this record and really just tried to write what I know about.”
If such an eclectic album seems outside the norm, it shouldn’t, Thomas says. “There was a ton of discussion … about how do these songs get to co-exist on the same record,” he tells the publication. “But … at the end of the day, it’s all me and all things I’ve listened to and been inspired by. I think that’s what makes it a cohesive Thomas Rhett album.”
