Thomas Rhett And Family Welcome Daughter
Thomas Rhett, wife Lauren and adopted daughter Willa Gray have welcomed a new family member.
The young family hailed the arrival of Ada James Akins Saturday (8/12) and dear old dad shared the news with fans in a heartwarming Instagram post. “Last night at 10:28 PM Ada James Akins was born and it was truly the most amazing thing I have ever experienced,” Thomas wrote. “I can’t believe that we have two daughters! My wife @laur_akins labored almost 36 hours. She is by far the strongest human being I have ever met and I have a new found respect for moms around the world. We are so excited that Willa Gray has a baby sister! Thank you Lord and everyone for the prayers. #outnumbered.”
Ada’s arrival leaves Thomas vastly outnumbered by girls in his household and that’s just the way he likes it. “Before we even started wanting to have kids, I wanted girls,” the “Craving You” singer told ET recently. “I’m just gonna love them so much. I’m nervous about it as well – I don’t want to deal with boyfriends down the road, you know?”
Thomas put his Home Team Tour on hold for a few days to accommodate Ada’s arrival. Things crank back up Thursday (8/17) in Brownsville, Oregon. See a complete list of dates here.
