Sugarland Preps First Live Performance In Years For New Year’s Eve
Where will you be on New Year’s Eve? Wherever it is, odds are that Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2018 With Ryan Seacrest will be on the nearest TV. And when it is, so will Sugarland.
The recently reunited duo will deliver their first official performance together in five years on the show, and Jennifer Nettles is looking forward to it. “The last time we were together with a band as a duo, I was going into my third trimester of pregnancy,” she says through their record label. “And so, so much has happened, you know, in between that time and [now and] I think it will be exciting.”
Add to that the reality of the new year, and well, things get even more exciting. “It will be heightened,” Jennifer continues. “And I think it will be appropriate that there can be this beautiful marked ritual moment of a new year happening, with a new us coming back onto the stage reminding you of the music that you know and love, and also celebrating and introducing you to what’s to come.”

One of those things to come is a new Sugarland single called “Still The Same,” which the pair teased fans with recently on their social media accounts (above). “You have seen on a lot of the posts that we’ve done #StillTheSame, and I think the message that we are sending with that is, look, we’ve been doing all these wonderful things that have helped us grow as individuals and as artists, and yet we’re still the same Sugarland that you love,” Jennifer told People recently. “Sugarland has a specific sound and I feel like people are really connected to that, so I’m excited about getting to provide that sound.”
