Tim McGraw Boston Show: Bringing The Hits And Energy
I can’t tell you how many years it’s been since I last saw Tim McGraw in concert, but that tells you it’s been too long. Last night, Tim McGraw lit up the TD Garden in a rescheduled show. The country music icon did not disappoint. The Tim McGraw Boston show was electric and packed with passionate fans.
When The Lights Came On: Tim McGraw Boston 2024
The legendary singer and Yellowstone prequel 1883 actor came out guns blazin’, launching into his high energy 2012 top 10 hit, “Truck Yeah.” And he just kept going. I’ve since come to find out his flight was delayed and he literally flew in, rushed to the TD Garden and minutes later hit the stage.
The 3 time Grammy Award winner churned out hit after hit from his extensive catalog, and thew in a cover of Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer.” Tim recorded and released that cover in 2002. It’s been a part of his shows for years. He couldn’t possibly get to ALL the hits in a nearly 105 minute set. I mean, his career does span over 30 years.
The singer’s larger than life silhouette appeared on the image of a red stage curtain. The anticipation of the crowd became heated, as tens of thousands awaited the superstar. Then, out of the smoke and literally out of the floor…was Tim McGraw. The ecstatic audience responded with thundering roars of applause, whistles and cheers.
Ironically, on this day, back in 1995 McGraw was awarded the ACM Awards’ New Male Vocalist of the Year. He hasn’t slowed down since then. Here he is, having just turned 57 (May 1) and he’s still on the road, still putting out new music and still slaying the game of country music.
Tim McGraw Boston Set List
I don’t know how Tim and his team come up the set list of songs to perform, when the choices are many. There’s only so much time, and let’s face it, we all have our favorites. He skipped some #1s like “My Best Friend,” “It’s Your Love” and “Last Dollar,” perhaps opting for more high energy songs.
Some of us were expecting that Carly Pearce, who opened the show, would join McGraw on a song like “It’s Your Love.” His wife, Faith Hill sings backup on the iconic ballad. However, this show was about Tim and his talented band. And they delivered. Tim McGraw hasn’t written many songs in his career, but his “My Little Girl” I thought might have been incorporated into the set.
The set list for the night was as follows:
1. Truck Yeah
2. Southern Voice
3. All I Want Is a Life
4. Tiny Dancer (Elton John cover)
5. Just to See You Smile
6. Over and Over
7. Shotgun Rider
8. One Bad Habit
9. Watch the Wind Blow By
10. Something Like That
11. Where the Green Grass Grows
12. Standing Room Only
13. Red Ragtop
14. Highway Don’t Care
15. I Like It, I Love It
16. Felt Good on My Lips
17. Real Good Man

Tim had called earlier in the week to help get the word out that the show had to be moved from it’s original date of Friday, May 10, to make way for the Bruins playoff game. He expressed his excitement at returning to Boston. Listen HERE.
