Brad Paisley Says Post Malone ‘Deserves’ To Be Welcomed
A couple of years ago, when Post Malone started to talk about his love of country music, he posted a video of himself covering a Brad Paisley song. At the time, Brad joked on social media that he was Post Malone’s songwriter.
Flash forward to today and Brad is just one of the many country stars on Malone’s new album F-1 Trillion.
We interviewed Brad this week and he told us his thoughts on Post Malone and his love of the country genre. He said, “He deserves to be welcomed because of his love for it and his immersion to it. I know how many hours of sleep I’m never gonna get back from working with him and the amount of dedication, and hours, and blood sweat, and tears, and liver damage that he has been doing (laughs).”
He added of his friend, “He’s been working really hard on becoming a country artist and it’s not some whim and sometimes over the years. We’ve all seen the foray into country music by people that are like, ‘I’ll try this for a moment.’ That’s not what he’s doing. I get the feeling this was his goal all along; he’s just that serious about it. He did it great and with his record, nobody has any complaints. It’s just really cool, and it’s been really eye-opening to see the creative process that he does so different than mine.”
Paisley concluded, “He will work all the time on music and he just will not stop. I’m thrilled for him.”

Taylor Swift took home her first 2024 MTV VMAs at New York’s UBS Arena last month and she said something sweet about her duet partner Post Malone. The two music superstars took home the award for best collaboration for their work on the The Tortured Poets Department hit single, “Fortnight.”
Taylor said in her acceptance speech on stage, accepting the honor, “It’s so amazing to have the opportunity to thank and honor the people who worked so hard with me on this video.”
She continued, “There is a very clear reason why Post Malone is everyone in music’s favorite person to collaborate with. It is because you are so ridiculously talented. You are so versatile, and you’re the most down-to-earth person.”
Swift joked, “Honestly, so unfailingly polite. It has taken me forever to get him to stop calling me ma’am. So, do you want to say something, Austin?” Malone’s given name is Austin Richard Post.
