Donate Your Gently Used Sneakers For A Great Cause
Do you have new or gently worn sneakers that you’re no longer wearing? Donate them!
Tammy Jerome, a Bedford, NH mother of four, is helping to collect new, gently used sneakers for the upcoming Falmouth Road Race (a 7-mile race in Woods Hole, MA in August).
The goal is to collect 2,500 pairs of new and gently used sneakers to raise funds for the support the The Stepping Strong Center at Brigham and Women’s. The sneakers will be re-purposed in developing nations such as Haiti. This recycles the shoes and keeps them out of landfills, as well.
There is no restriction to where they come from – family, friends, coworkers, local gyms, running clubs, etc.

About Tammy:
Tammy was the 4th patient – and 1st female – to participate in a new experimental amputation procedure called The Ewing Amputation. She will eventually be able to control the movement of a future prosthetic with her brain.
Tammy underwent the procedure in August of 2017, and despite slow healing, eight days after receiving her final prosthetic in April of 2018, she completed the Boston Athletic Association 5K on Marathon Weekend. She has since also completed the Bedford Color Run and the Eversource 5K.
