Meet Catherine Roche from Haverhill
There is so much texture in Catherine Roche’s voice, one might think she’s lived a thousand lives. It’s like there are layers of stories in every flutter. There’s warmth, sympathy, despair, affection, and joy all vying to escape her heart in hopes of connecting with other souls, other hearts.
Drawing comparisons is inevitable, and in the music of this New England singer/songwriter I can hear traces of Joni, Dolly and Brandi. Perhaps it’s the emotion, or the delivery. It could be the genres, there’s folk, country, singer/songwriter vibes. One thing’s for sure, and that is this songwriter has something to say, and the enchanting vocals to carry it.
Roche’s Release
Catherine’s new release, “If That Ain’t Me,” serves to inspire within it’s message, and escape within it’s melody. Listen here, as she effectively paints a picture with her voice, while drawing you with her words…sharing a story of a dreamer.
What motivated Catherine to write this song? She explained;” I wrote this song hoping that it would spark a flame for someone struggling to follow their dreams. When we are young we have no fears. We say what we want and that’s that. As you get older obstacles come in our way but I hope this song shows that you should always believe in yourself. Find that fearless inner child. ”

- What lead you to music: the ability to help, heal and inspire people through creativity. I’ve always loved to put on a show for people.
- How old when you started: I was young when I first started. I would sing at family parties, talent shows at school, I would Do workshops and classes. It wasn’t until I was older that I went For it full throttle.
- First country song you learned: it was probably a Kenny Rogers song in my grandmothers car. I don’t remember. Or a Johnny Cash song ?
- Instruments played: guitar / vocals
- How would you describe your sound: Country with a hint of folk and rock. Maybe a dash of pop? I grew up listening to all kinds of music !
- Who inspires you: a lot of different people and just the world really. I love hearing stories from everyone and what their lives are like. Makes for a great song.
- Dream duet partner: Miranda Lambert or Lori McKenna
- All- time favorite country song: oh gosh. I always see my self going back to “Everything But You” by Kip Moore
- First country concert: I think Tim McGraw
- What songs do you like now on Country 1025: all of them!
- If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: Definitely something in the music industry !
- Most proud moment: Opening up for Jason Aldean and also Morgan Evan’s. Just the fact I started from nothing and was able to get myself opening… I’m pretty proud of myself.
- Crazy thing that happened in your music career: I find every opportunity I’ve had mind blowing !
- Other things you like to do: I love working out, baking, nature, meditation, and a good beach / boat day
- Fun facts:I’m pretty psychic. I’ll get this intuitive feeling and then it happens and I’m like (wow). I trained my wild mustang named Bandit. He was the best horse. He was green and wild when my parents got him. He was the best horse.
