Local Catch Of The Week: Reed Foehl From Dover, MA
There’s plenty of bling that comes along with this artist. And I’m not speaking of attire. My Local Catch of the Week, Reed Foehl from Dover, is a decorated singer/songwriter. There’s nothing like the shine of a Grammy Award nomination to bedazzle. Reed earned this great honor for co-writing a song with well-known Nashville songwriter and Americana artist, Brent Cobb. Together, they wrote the song “Fly, which was covered by Grammy Award winning country music legend Lee Ann Womack. Reed has also recorded with rock n’ roll royalty and played iconic venues. More on that, below.
It all started for Reed Foehl in his living room, in the small town of Dover, MA. His parents had a band and would practice there. With bluegrass and country music influences flowing through his DNA, Reed set out on a career of his own. He built it, they came. Foehl has spent years touring the country and bringing his thoughtful poetry-put- to- music to his growing number of fans. His folksy way of telling a story is captivating, and his emotional emission is beautiful.
You can witness the poetry in motion live on stage Saturday, April 8 when Reed Foehl headlines at show at City Winery in Boston, in the Haymarket Lounge. There are other New England dates in the coming weeks, listed below. The shows are in support of Reed’s latest album, Wild Wild Love. This is Foehl’s 6th studio album and it was recorded with Band of Heathens in Austin, Texas.

- What lead you to music: My parents had a country and bluegrass band and they
practiced every Thursday night in our living room at home. Grew up around four-part harmony and those sweet sounds. Think I caught the bug from that. - How old when you started: 11
- First country song you learned: Country Roads, John Denver
- Instruments played: Guitar and piano
- Who inspires you: John Prine
- Awards/accolades: Grammy-nominated for my song “Fly,” which I co-wrote with Brent Cobb, and which was later cut by Lee Ann Womack.
- Dream duet partner: Kris Kristofferson
- All- time favorite country song: “Always On My Mind,” written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher, and Mark James …Willie’s version!

Church (Maren) - Most proud moment: Playing Red Rocks in Colorado
- Crazy thing that happened in your music career: I met Graham Nash outside of a
venue in Mill Valley, CA, when he happened to walk by me as I was playing a song I had
just written. He ended up singing that song with me on a record two years later. The song is “Dancing for You” and the record is “Strange Days,” the last record I did with my former band Acoustic Junction - Other things you like to do: Ice skate
