My Wife Almost Let Me Die And Told Me I was Being a Baby
Today on The Panic Button on Country 102.5 we had Jacob whose problem is that his wife is so sick is so sick of him thinking that he’s sick that when he was actually sick she didn’t believe he was sick. Make sense? Women, why does it bug you so much when men are sick? Here is the call
Jonathan:
Country 102.5. Jonathan and Ayla doing Panic Button, and today Danielle For Panic Button we have Jacob, who’s just lucky to be among the living. Hey, Jacob.
Jacob:
Yeah, hey, guys.
Jacob:
Hey, listen, I’m happy to be here. Long story short, I had appendicitis, and it was almost too late for them to really help. I ended up going to the ER last minute after passing out. It never would have gotten to that point if it wasn’t for my wife, who didn’t really believe it was as bad as it actually was. She thought I was fine, but it turns out I wasn’t fine. Now, she’s not really that sorry about it. To rewind a little…
Jacob:
She thinks I tend to dramatize how sick or injured I actually am.
Jonathan:
Yeah, well, for some reason, guys complaining a lot when we’re sick is a common thing.
Danielle:
How dare you? You guys are babies.
Jonathan:
Women don’t like to hear their adult husbands complaining about stuff because they have enough problems. Women usually have more physical issues than men, so they’re just like, “Quit being a baby.” But what have you done in the past that’s made her have that attitude?
Danielle:
Correct, yeah.
Jacob:
Well, every time I’m sick with a fever, it’s like, “Oh, you’ll be fine.” Or if I have a cold or bang my shin and I say more than a little “ow,” she’ll be like, “Oh, you’re being a baby. Come on, be a man.” But to her credit, about a year ago, I scraped myself on a nail while working outside. I was worried and thought it might be infected.
Jonathan:
Let me guess, you Googled symptoms of tetanus and had all of them.
Jacob:
Exactly. Yeah. And I did end up going to the hospital. There was just a sliver, but other than that, they said I was absolutely fine. So she kind of felt justified, and ever since then, it’s been tough to display any pain around her. But with the appendicitis, I felt such a sharp pain on my right side. I told her, “Hey, I think this is really serious.” She didn’t believe me. I’m not mad at her for almost dying, but I’m annoyed she won’t apologize. She’s still digging her heels in, saying this should be a lesson to me.
Jonathan:
So she doesn’t feel bad about the fact that you had to go to the hospital and you were actually telling the truth. She’s like, “You learned your lesson.”
Jacob:
No, she’s basically like, “It’s the boy who cried wolf. You can’t blame the villagers for not believing him.”
Jonathan:
Alright. Well, call in right now, 888-819-1025. Jacob’s problem is that his wife refused to take him to the hospital when he was about to die of appendicitis. His appendix was about to burst, but she refused to take him because he’s been such a baby about things in the past. Was she justified, or was she being too harsh? Are men such babies that we have this coming? 888-819-1025. We’ll talk to you guys next on Country 102.5. Jacob, thank you so much.
Jacob:
Yeah, thank you.
