East Bridgewater Woman Honored as Patriots Difference Maker of the Week
East Bridgewater resident Gail Dailey has been honored as a Patriots Difference Maker of the Week for volunteering with My Brother’s Keeper in Easton, Massachusetts.
Dailey has volunteered with My Brother’s Keeper for nearly five years, significantly enhancing the organization’s mission. She turns to her creativity to transform simple objects into gifts, which she delivers along with supporting the organization’s work to provide food and furniture assistance.
In 2024, for Mother’s Day, Dailey organized a collection of more than 500 gifts for mothers. During the holiday season, Dailey dedicated 12 hours each day from Thanksgiving through Christmas to distributing gifts to more than 3,000 families. A news release issued by the New England Patriots press office noted that her willingness to accept jobs large and small reflects her dedication and perseverance.
“My first reaction was, ‘No, no, not me! There are so many others who are deserving.’ This recognition means so much to me, especially as I represent My Brother’s Keeper,” Dailey stated in a Patriots news release obtained by the Taunton Daily Gazette. “My husband has been recovering from surgery, and hearing this wonderful news truly brightened my day. I hope to inspire others to think of those in need, just as I’ve tried to do, and I’m excited to share this honor with my family and community.”
According to the Patriots’ news release, the Difference Maker of the Week award is part of a larger initiative called Celebrate Volunteerism, supported by the Kraft family, Gillette, and the New England Patriots Foundation. This initiative aims to recognize dedicated volunteers and promote the importance of volunteerism in the community.
As a Patriots Difference Maker, Dailey will receive a $10,000 grant to support My Brother’s Keeper. The organization provides food, furniture, and Christmas assistance to more than 18,000 households, serving more than 62,000 adults, children, and older adults annually.
