Patriots QB Drake Maye Proposes to High School Sweetheart on Beach
Patriots rookie Drake Maye picked a sunny beach as the perfect spot to ask his high school girlfriend Ann Michael Hudson to be his wife. He popped the question right after finishing his first NFL season.
The third pick in the 2024 draft shared beachside photos of the special moment on his social media. The engagement news brought some joy after a tough first year in New England.
Their love story began at William A. Hough High School in North Carolina back in 2015. Hudson stood by his side through everything – from the nerves of draft day to his debut at Gillette Stadium.
The beach proposal’s timing meant Maye wasn’t around to meet new Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. He missed the meeting after a rough 4-13 season where he took over from Jacoby Brissett in October.
At UNC, Hudson balances business studies with real-world experience. She divides her time between consulting for Piedmont Pennies and handling finances for her Kappa Delta sorority. She’s also pursuing minors in entrepreneurship and conflict management.
Scouts spotted potential in Maye’s rookie season, even with the team’s struggles. They liked his arm strength and mobility but noted he needs to work on his accuracy.
When the engagement hit social media, fans got another peek at their ongoing relationship. Earlier, Hudson had shown unwavering support when Maye entered the NFL draft.
