Blake Shelton On ‘God’s Country’ CMA: ‘That Song Grabs Me By The Throat’
Blake Shelton took home a CMA Award for Single of the Year for his chart topper “God’s Country.”
Backstage after his win and performance of the song he told us, “I love how ‘God’s ‘Country’ pushes me to the edge vocally. No matter what you do you can feel like there’s something about it.”
He added, “You can find something about that song that gets you pumped up. That’s what it does to me it has me literally grabs me by the throat and kicks my ass and I that’s what I love that about the song.”
Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think.
