How To Make A Backyard Movie Night

Sure, there are drive-ins that are popping up all over New England this summer, but you might be missing those movie nights in the park that show up around this time every year.

Social distancing isn’t going to ruin the fun – you can make your own movie theatre with your kids right in your own backyard, and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

• 1. Get A Projector

  Believe it or not, these are actually relatively cheap! Amazon has projector and screen bundles for under $150, just as an example.

• 2. Make a Screen

  If you opt to just get a projector without a screen, any flat wall that you can tack a sheet onto should do!

• 3. Plug Your Device In

  Laptop, desktop, tablet. Grab something from the many selections on your favorite streaming service.
• 4. Make Sure You’ve Got Sound

  Most projectors can probably pump out enough sound for a small backyard gathering, but you may need to go the bluetooth route.

• 5. Make Sure You’ve Got Snacks

  This should be self explanatory, but popcorn is a must. You can even grab some movie-theatre candy at the supermarket or a discount store.

Invite some of your close friends and neighbors to hang out with you too! Remember to follow social distancing protocols though!
