Fake Flights Taking Off
If you had to cancel spring break plans or a big summer vacation because of coronavirus, one airport in Taiwan has the solution — take a fake flight.
That’s right, you get a pretend itinerary, check-in, go through security, and board an airplane. But, you never leave the ground.
Officials at Taipei’s downtown Songshan airport say they thought of the plan to help travel-starved tourists and so far, 7,000 people applied to take part.
The “fake flights” program is being used to show off recent airport renovations and explain new measures in place for coronavirus prevention.
