Dolly Parton Releases ‘Let It Be’ With Two Former Beatles
Dolly Parton released the next track off her upcoming Rockstar album today (8/18). The song is a cover of the Beatles’ “Let It Be,” and the country icon was joined by two of the Beatles: Paul McCartney (vocals/piano) and Ringo Starr (drums). The track also features Peter Frampton (guitar) and Mick Fleetwood (additional percussion).
Dolly said in a statement, “Well, does it get any better than singing ‘Let It Be’ with Paul McCartney, who wrote the song? Not only that, he played piano! Well, it did get even better when Ringo Starr joined in on drums, Peter Frampton on guitar, and Mick Fleetwood playing percussion.”
She added, “I mean, seriously, how much better does it get? Thanks, guys!”
Rockstar, which will be released on November 17, features Parton taking on some of the most adored songs in Rock n’ Roll history. She has already released two songs from the album – the new, original song she wrote with producer Kent Wells “Bygones (feat. Rob Halford)” and “Magic Man (Carl Version) (feat. Ann Wilson),” as well as her original song, “World on Fire,” which reached the No.1 Billboard Rock Digital Songs chart.

In June, Parton broke new ground as her single from her upcoming Rockstar album “Bygones” featuring Rob Halford with special guests Nikki Sixx and John 5 became a #1 hit at rock radio.
Dolly said in a statement, “I am so excited to see the response ‘Bygones’ is receiving! To debut at #1 on the Rock charts is such a thrill for me, and it makes it even sweeter to share this with Rob, Nikki, and John 5.”
She added, “I also have to recognize my coproducer on the album and co-writer on this song, Kent Wells, who helped me bring this song to life. I am a happy girl today!”
“Bygones” follows the lead single from Rockstar, “World On Fire”— a Parton original — that became the album’s first #1 when it peaked atop Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart in May.
