Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek made a special statement about his cancer diagnosis and all of the love and support he’s received since he revealed that he has stage four pancreatic cancer. He spoke about it during the taping of the final episode of Jeopardy for this season. He also revealed that his treatment is going well and he plans to returns for the 36th season of Jeopardy! next fall and joked that his contract requires him to stick around for three more years.
Taylor Swift was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential people in America. Sean Mendes wrote her story and spoke of how she inspired so many other artists. Taylor has also posted a countdown clock on her website and social media pointing to something major happening on April 26th. While she hasn’t said what this event is, her fans are hoping it will be the reveal of the first single from her long awaited new album.
Rob Gronkowski put a huge dent in the Lombardi Trophy while using it as a baseball bat. It happened during the Red Sox game where the Patriots were honored during “batting practice”. The Patriots tried to make light of it by making a mockumentary featuring other players who were there to view the incident.
Kelsea Ballerini was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Carrie Underwood gave her induction speech, but the real tearjerker was when Kelsea got the microphone and talked about Carrie’s influence on her and how much it meant to her. Even though she’s now a member, she’s still such a fan that she bought a bedazzled T-shirt in the Grand Ole Opry gift shop
The cast of Game of Thrones is revealing what costumes and props they stole from the set at the end of taping. Cast member Liam Cunningham joked that he stole so much memorabilia that he needed a U-Haul truck to take it all home.
