New Bill Hopes To Bring 4 Day Workweeks To Massachusetts
I just did an unofficial poll in the room I’m in and 100% of people support a four day workweek. Truth be told I’m alone here typing but hopefully that counts for something.
A new bill in Massachusetts would provide financial incentives for companies with a four-day workweek, giving tax credits to businesses transitioning workers to a shorter week while keeping the same pay intact. Lawmakers supporting the bill cite studies showing that a four day workweek increases productivity and morale – and is overall much better for employees’ mental health.
Today, I'm pleased to co-file legislation with @RepDylan to create a four-day work week pilot program here in MA. This voluntary program would allow businesses to transition employees to a reduced work schedule without an overall reduction in pay. #mapoli #4DWW (1/4) pic.twitter.com/1FRsy3O64h
