Massachusetts Residents Spend the Same on Food Delivery as their Relationships
How much do you think Massachusetts spends on food delivery services like Grub Hub and Uber Eats? According to a new study by the team at Upgraded Points, Massachusetts residents spend $1,446.51 annually on food delivery — which works out to 2.47% of the median income in Massachusetts. $1,446.51 comes out to around $120 per month on food delivery.
In another study, the Motley Fool determined that the average American spends on average $130 to $146 a month on dating (this includes married people, who on average spend $130 and single people who spend $146 on average). Those figures are pretty close to the amount of money spent on food delivery per month. I guess it makes sense. Sometimes you need your S.O. and sometimes you just need a greasy steak and cheese. I get it.
The Upgraded Points study on Americans and delivery food uncovered lots of interesting stats: 78.8% of Americans use food delivery services and spends $35.42 per order. The average American orders delivery 3.7 times per month, almost once a week! If you’d like to check out all of the findings, get it get it RIGHT HERE.
And while we’re talking about food delivery services, let’s take some guesses on fast food locations in Massachusetts. Which chain do you think has the most Mass locations? How about nationally?
Americans spent $320 BILLION in 2022 on fast food. That’s sooooo many french fries to get lost between your driver seat and center console! (A treat for later?) I started thinking about the country’s obsession with fast food and wondering if Massachusetts lines up with the country as a whole when it comes to the abundance of certain fast food restaurants.
Stacker did the counting and provided the national data (updated in 2022). So what’s your guess nationally? Does McDonalds hold the key to the fast food kingdom with the most national locations? How about in Massachusetts – does Massachusetts really run mostly on Dunkin’ or did another chain edge them out for the #1 spot?
