Bed Bath & Beyond To Close 150 Stores – Will Any of the 20 Massachusetts Locations Be Affected?

Bed Bath & Beyond has fallen on hard times. Sales are down 26% from last year and shares have fallen 25% leading the chain to announce unfortunate news today. Bed Bath & Beyond will be closing 150 locations and laying off 20% of it’s workforce. Our thoughts are with any and everyone affected.

Massachusetts has 20 Bed Bath & Beyond’s – will any of those close? And if so, which ones? The answers to those questions are still TBD. In a press release BB&B says “The Company has identified and commenced the closure of approximately 150 lower-producing Bed Bath & Beyond banner stores.”

5 More Massachusetts Bed Bath & Beyond Locations Are Closing For Good

With Bankruptcy looming, Bed Bath & Beyond made the unfortunate announcement that they will be closing another 87 stores including 5 locations in Massachusetts. The news comes months after an initial 3 Massachusetts locations were set to close, which at this point have occurred.

This will take the struggling retailer from 20 locations before the initial closings down to 12 here in the Bay State. The additional 5 locations are set to close in 2023, though the closings could happen relatively quickly now that they’ve been announced.

Below are all 20 Massachusetts Bed Bath & Beyond locations. I’ve marked the 3 that recently closed and the 5 which have been announced to be closing by the company in 2023. It’s sad to see a brand that has seemed so healthy for years struggle to find it’s footing.
