Starbucks Summer Cake Pop Fail: That Ain’t No Bee, That’s a Melancholy Shrek or Terrified Tiger
Starbucks has released their new summer items, including two new drinks, the Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino and the White Chocolate Macadamia Cream Cold Brew (yo, those sound good). The third item is being received a little less successfully – their new summer cake pop.
The internet is divided over the new cake pops. Not over cake pops themselves, personally I think they’re a ripoff for a small ball of cake which was baked who-knows-when then pawned off as a boujee treat, but I digress. The internet is divided over the design of the cake pop… and you’ll see why.
It’s like that classic rabbit duck illusion where some see the rabbit and some see the duck in the same sketch. Starbucks released it as a happy bee illustration on the cake pop. Unfortunately that’s not what the internet is seeing, dragging it as a “terrified tiger.”
Personally I see a melancholy Shrek. Check out the picture below. Do you mostly see: A) a happy bee B) a terrified tiger C) a melancholy Shrek or D) other?
Please let me know because I care way more about this than I ever should.
