Southborough Fire Department Rescues Driver Who Drove Their Car into Trash Compactor!
The Southborough Fire Department deserve some serious kudos for rescuing a driver who drove their car into, and got stuck in, an industrial trash compactor!
Officials from the Fire Department say that serious injuries were avoided, though the woman driving the car was taken to the hospital to be checked out. But good gosh, check out these pictures:
So… how did that happen?!?
Uhhh… not so sure actually. Officials are investigating that now. What we do know is that this occurred at a Department of Public Works transfer station in Southborough. Public Works workers discovered the car just as you see above and called 911.
Was the driver still in the car when it was discovered?
Yes. Yes she was. I would have been freaking out so bad. Do you see the jaws of the humongous trash compactor above?? The rescue took around 20 minutes. Again, in the pic above, you can see how it was done using ladders to climb into the compressor to save the driver, who perhaps thought was going down a steep, very short, hill. Or maybe they just really trust their GPS. Calling 1-800-KARS-4-KIDS would have been a much easier and helpful way to dispose of that car. OK, I think I’m done with the dumb jokes. Again, no serious injuries thankfully.
Again, shout out to the Southborough Fire Department. While I’m sure it’s not the strangest rescue you’ve ever made…. it’s definitely another strange one to add to the stories to tell list. Also, if you’re looking for a slightly used Subaru Forester, I may know of one.
Let’s move from a driver who may benefit from more Driver’s Ed to the Best school districts in Massachusetts. The Top 25 is out for 2023. Here, have a look and see if your area’s district made this year’s list!:
