Summer’s temps usher in a whole new makeup ballgame and Beantown makeup artist Liz Fuller has a bevy of tips for looking your best, from balm to blush to bronzers.
Summer makeup is all about looking fresh and natural, using lightweight formulas that allow skin to breathe and show through. Tinted moisturizers and BB/CC creams are really great for summer heat. One of my very favorites is MAC Next to Nothing Face Colour (l). It is kind of like a serum foundation. It disappears into the skin, but somehow evens out the complexion without looking like you have anything on. I love to start with this and then spot conceal any blemishes or discoloration with a matte concealer.
A new face palette that I have discovered from Too Faced is amazing! It’s their Natural Face Palette – 6 bronzy/pink shades of blush, bronzers, and highlighters that give the skin a very natural, sun-kissed look. The palette smells like cocoa butter and creates a beautiful summer glow!
Blotting sheets are your best friends in the summer. When temperatures rise, we will inevitably sweat! The blotting sheets from Clean & Clear are my favorite. Just press the sheet against your skin to absorb excess oil and sweat without messing up your makeup. These are a staple not only in my makeup kit, but in my purse as well!
Tinted lip balm‘s and lip crayons are huge for summer. They not only moisturize your lips, but give a nice pop of color that is not too heavy opaque. Giving lips a hint of color is perfect for any summer day or night. I like Palladio’s Tinted Herbal Lip Balm & Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm.
