Your Earliest Childhood Memory Is Probably Made Up
That first memory you have of being alive is something you probably made up in your head.
40 percent of people in a study said their first memory was before they were 2-years-old. Memory researchers dispute that saying it’s almost impossible for a human to remember anything before turning 2.
The researchers cite something called infantile amnesia. It’s very unlikely to retain a memory at that young age.
There’s a difference between declarative memory like events and things happening to us and non-declarative memory like walking and talking. They happen in different parts of the brain.
What do you think is your first memory?
