No School Tomorrow For North Andover, Andover, And Lawrence
Due to suspected gas explosions in North Andover, Andover, and Lawrence, school has been canceled for tomorrow — After as many as 70 explosions occurred in the area.
At this time, power has been shut off in all three towns.
It is not yet known when the power will be restored.
The multi-city explosion unfolded over the last few hours.
According to WCVB, firefighters from multiple agencies have been dispatched to our area to assist — As there are still several hot spots that need to be put out.
While the exact cause of the explosions have not yet been determined, Columbia Gas is working to depressurize the gas lines.
The Gas Company was in the midst of replacing over 700 miles of old gas lines in the area, but it is not yet known if that contributed to this incident.
