Ashley McBryde Backstage At CMAs: ‘Girls This Thing Is Heavy’
Ashley McBryde won the CMAs’ New Artist of Year honor and backstage she shared some advice for young girls with country music dreams. She said to young girls everywhere, “Girls, this thing’s heavy and you’ll feel really good carrying it around. It’s never too early or too late to do what you want to do.”
Ashley also learned that Carrie Underwood was hoping she would win and she replied, “The queen has spoken and I thought it was a really nice thing to do.”
McBryde talked about her “pinch me” moments during this CMA week and she recalled, “There have been several big moments like when Reba scared the tar out of me at a radio event and she said, ‘Hi I’m Reba McEntire and I’m your biggest fan.'”
