Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Reba Go Blue For CMAs Open
All eyes and ears were on Carrie Underwood and her co-hosts Dolly Parton and Reba as they did the opening three-way monologue at the CMA Awards.
Underwood noted that it was an honor to work with Dolly and Reba but there was one setback: sharing a dressing room.“It’s a fog of hairspray, shoes, and costume changes. There are racks of clothes and dresses everywhere, and for some reason, Dolly’s rack is so much bigger.”
Reba chimed in, “Dolly’s rack is so much bigger!”
They also joked about another legend who was in the room: Willie Nelson. Underwood noted, “Come to think of it, those two have a lot in common. Both are incredible songwriters. Both have luscious locks. And both enjoy a tall glass of Willie’s Reserve.”
Reba asked, “Did you say, glass? Don’t you mean grass?”<
“Willie’s Reserve isn’t whiskey? Fine wine?”
Dolly chimed in: “Let’s just put it this way, whatever he has in reserve, it’s going to be a night of high times and misdemeanors.
But it wasn't all about jokes. Reba noted that “This year, we’re putting the spotlight on our legends, the great ladies of today, and the up and comers changing the game. We’re doing it for all the little girls watching tonight, dreaming of ruling the world of country music, or, just ruling the world.”
Surely, after watching these three legends, many girls feel that they can do just that.
