REWIND: Jake Owen Superstar Mini Concert
Jake Owen kicked off the weekend with his Superstar Mini Concert performing hits like Homemade, Made For You, and American Country Love Song. Find out more about his time at home with his baby daughter and which song he performed at a wedding for fellow country stars.
Jake has been home with his family including his daughter who is about to turn one and start walking, “And that’s been really special because I feel like sometimes for those of us that stay on the road a lot, it’s those little special moments like that we tend to miss.”
Homemade brings a different style for Jake and his music, but he’s still very proud of it. “I have not released a lot of ballad type style songs in my career, and not that that’s a ballad, but it’s a very special song and a love style song that resonates a lot in my heart. ”
Jake loves songs that say something and for him, Made For You says a lot. It’s one of his favorite songs he’s recorded and was a part of a familiar country wedding. “I’ve played it at many weddings, actually played this at Michael Ray and Carly Pearce’s wedding. Shout-out to Michael and Carly and best wishes to them on their beautiful love story.”
This past year has been very special for Jake, “To be able this past year, to not only had a little baby girl, but to have another number one song with Homemade, was a big deal for me.”
Jake performed a unique version of American Country Love Song as it was just him and a guitar. “I think I’m going to play a song that has also been really, really great for me over the years and a song that really resonates right now. No matter where you go around this country, no matter, you know, people are all dealing with the same thing. You know, where we’re all in this together.”
