Airline Offering Up “Mystery” Vacations
One airline is getting creative to try and lure travelers back.
Air New Zealand has launched “Mystery” vacations.
They’ll pick the destination for you and you won’t know where you are going until two days before departure.
“We’re really excited to have refreshed Mystery Breaks – it’s part of doing our bit to boost local tourism. Previously these had been mostly purchased by corporate customers, but we’ve developed the packages further to appeal to leisure travellers,” said Air New Zealand General Manager Brand and Marketing Jeremy O’Brien in a statement.
“It takes the admin out of booking a holiday – you don’t have to research and plan all the separate elements – all you have to do is get on the plane. They are also a great gift option because you don’t need a name or a date to buy a voucher – the recipient can decide at a later date.”
There are 3 different price levels you can choose from depending on what you want to spend and it includes the plane ticket and a hotel stay.
Here’s the catch, it’s only open for domestic travel inside New Zealand, and right now, most of us aren’t even allowed to step foot in the country due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Still, a mystery vacation is kind of a cool concept. Maybe it’s something we’ll see with US airlines once travel begins to pick up again.
