Young Boy Has Viral Moment With Baby Gorilla At Franklin Park Zoo
Liam from Billerica, MA is four years old and recently he had an interaction with a gorilla around his age. The moment went viral, and he’s still feeling the excitement from the moment at the Franklin Park Zoo. Liam’s family visits the zoo often, but they’ve never seen anything like this before!
In the video that the Franklin Park Zoo shared, Liam is peeking through the glass into the gorilla enclosure. That’s when “Pablo,” the baby gorilla in the gorilla enclosure approaches little Liam.
Liam reaches his hand out and touches the glass. Then, Pablo hides, and moves his head to the other side of the barrier. So Liam follows. That’s when Pablo sneaks over to the other side of the pole. Liam follows again. The two of them are playing a good old fashioned game of “peekaboo.” It’s a completely innocent moment that was luckily captured on video. One of the best parts of the video is when Pablo makes silly faces at Liam.
Liam’s mother, Alicia Fallon, told Ayla Brown of “Country Mornings with Ayla Brown” that what you can’t see in the now viral video is that Liam was making the same silly faces back to the baby gorilla. The two boys were connecting on an amazing level and laughing the whole time.
The Video That Went Viral
The Franklin Park Zoo posted the adorable interaction between the two boys and it went viral. In less than a week, the video has been viewed over 1.1 million times and has been like over 58,000 times. The content really resonated with animals lovers. In the Facebook post, the zoo said, “Many thanks to Zoo Member Alicia for sharing this clip of her 4-year-old playing peekaboo with Pablo. We love seeing moments like this! After all, inspiration to protect our natural world can start when you least expect it.”
Alicia told Country 102.5 that she wants everyone to see videos like this to show that zoos are not bad places. Instead, zoos are wonderful places where children can learn and interact with animals from all over the world. Alicia said, “I hope this helps generate some funds and support for the zoo. It is so important that we help the conservation efforts of foundations like Zoo New England.”
And for Liam, he plans on returning to the zoo as often as possible, especially now that he has a friend in the monkey section.
